Health and Safety for Term Time

  • All staff entering the campus are to have their temperature taken. Any person with a temperature over 37.5C will not be allowed to enter the campus. 
  • Properly diluted bleach is used for effective disinfection. 1:49 for contaminated surfaces and 1:99 for general cleaning. 
  • All toys and equipment will be cleaned with Milton. 
  • All doormats must be sprayed twice a day with 1:49 diluted bleach. 
  • All door handles (especially main entrances, and exits), lift buttons, keypads, light switches, railings, etc are sanitized every hour using 1:99. 
  • Toilets and bathrooms are cleaned and disinfected with 1:99 diluted bleach. 
  • All electronic thermometers are wiped down with 70% alcohol or 1:99 diluted bleach and then air-dried and stored in a dry place. 
  • Liquid soap and disposable tissue towels are available at each sink for handwashing. 
  • All cleaning equipment is properly maintained and disinfected with 1:49 diluted bleach. 
  • All bins are covered and cleared once a day. 

For Staff

  • Staff will wear a full set of PPE that includes goggles, surgical masks, gloves, disposable gowns at the entrance for a temperature check. 
  • It is mandatory for all staff to properly wear a surgical mask (covering mouth and nose) when entering the campus and at all times. 
  • Staff are reminded to properly wash their hands before and after caring for each child.
  • If the staff is defined as a 'person subject to compulsory testing' or 'close contact' in accordance to CHP's regulation, he/she must inform the school immediately. The staff must undergo COVID-19 test during the specified period, and inform the school after obtaining the negative test results. The staff must present the related proof to the school upon return.

 

For Children

  • All persons (parent, child, caregivers) entering the campus are to have their temperature taken. Any person with a temperature over 37.5C will not be allowed to enter the campus. If a child develops a fever after arriving at school, caregivers will be informed and will have to make arrangements to pick their child up as soon as possible.
  • Children with a temperature of 37.5C or over will not be allowed to enter the campus and should be kept home for at least 48 hours after they have recovered. 
  • It is mandatory for all parents, caregivers and children to be wearing a surgical mask properly (covering mouth and nose) when entering the campus. 
  • Children are required to complete their Health Declaration Form before their first day and bring their completed Temperature Form every day to school. 
  • Children will need to bring at least one spare mask in a labelled Ziplock bag or container. 
  • Hand sanitizing gels are available at the entrance and are accessible in different areas of the school. 

IMPORTANT

  • If children have fever, respiratory symptoms or sudden loss of taste or smell, they should seek medical advice immediately and should not go to school.
  • If the child (or family) is defined as a 'preliminary/confirmed positive', 'person subject to compulsory testing', 'close contact' or living in a building with 'compulsory testing notice', in accordance with CHP's regulation, he/she must inform the school immediately and should not go to school.
  • The child (or family) must undergo COVID-19 test during the specified period, and inform the school after obtaining the negative test results. The child (or family) must present the related proof to the school upon return.

For Staff

  • Staff are reminded to properly wash their hands before and after caring for each child.
  • Anti-bacterial spray will be used in class sessions to sanitise surfaces, equipment and toys between uses. 

     

For Children

  • All children have to clean their hands upon arrival on campus before entering the classroom.
  • For hygiene reasons, students must not share snacks/drinks. Please pack a nut-free snack and a full water bottle for your child. 
  • Children will be arranged to sit in a line and facing one direction to avoid close face-to-face setting.
  • Staff will help the child change to their spare mask if the one they are using is wet or soiled. 
  • Children will have staggered playground time so less people cross paths. 
  • Children will have access to their own working stations or work together in smaller groups.
  • Any materials that cannot be disinfected will be disposed of after the activity (ex. playdough, sand, flour)
  • Floors will be marked for appropriate distancing.
  • The school will provide alcohol-based hand sanitisers and disposable paper towers for children to use. 
  • Air-conditioning systems are well-maintained with air-filters cleaned regularly.
  • The school will have biohazard bags and bins specially for contaminated consumables such as gloves, aprons, masks, etc. 
  • Staff have been trained for proper handling and disposal of biohazard bags.
  • Staff will ensure the flushing system of the toilets is working properly.
