To prevent the spread of influenza in schools, the Education Bureau announced today that all kindergartens, kindergarten cum child care centres, primary and special schools will start Chinese New Year Holidays from 8 Feb till 23 Feb inclusively.

Beachside Pre-School Repulse Bay

A huge, light and airy school situated in the heart of the Repulse Bay, this friendly school will appeal to any young child.

The school is on Beach Road, next to the beach, and all the classrooms have windows with a lot of natural light.

Our charming school offers a wonderfully spacious outdoor play area with safe play equipment for the children to explore.

School Trips

We organise various school trips during the term and we will let parents know about them well in advance.Parents are welcome to join us on trips and help with the children. Please note - we may have to cancel outings and trips at short notice if the weather looks unsuitable.

Health Records

We have to keep a record of all your child’s immunisations and their dates for the Government Medical and Health Department. To make sure we meet these requirements, please photocopy your child's immunisation records and give them to the school supervisor, and keep us updated on any changes.

Typhoons and Rainstorms

Check our Weather Warnings page.

Each child chooses a library book on one day of the week, which they must return on the same day of the following week.

Kids in Motion

Kids in Motion classes are fun and energizing, and help the children develop a range of physical skills. They focus on “Movement”, “Sense of Space”, “Health and Body Awareness” and “Creativity”, and support Early Learning Goals.

Toys and Books

We find it’s best if you discourage your child from bringing toys and books to school, because often they get lost or broken, and we wouldn’t want your child to be unhappy. If they bring in a toy or book relating to the class monthly theme or 'show and tell', please mark it clearly with their name.

We have a party for all children who have a birthday during the school term. You are most welcome to send along a healthy birthday treat, or come in and celebrate with us!

We also like to celebrate colourful traditional or religious festivals from our parents' home countries. You can arrange with the supervisor to come to the school and talk to the children about your traditional celebration, and perhaps share festive foods, gifts, costumes and so on.

Please note - we have a strict no-nut rule at all Woodland schools!

Your child should come to school in the right kind of clothes (avoid belts, braces, lots of buttons etc, as they can be difficult to manage if your child needs the toilet). We also recommend that your child brings a spare set of clothes (including extra pairs of pull-ups for younger children) and that you clearly label their clothes and possessions.

Advice on Primary Schools

It’s not easy to have your child accepted into one of the best International or English Schools Foundation (ESF) primary schools. Many require pre-entry testing or an interview, and some will only accept children who live in certain areas.

We’re proud of the fact that 98% of our children are accepted into the primary school of their choice, and we’re happy to advise you on this.

Parent Participation

We run a number of very popular activities and events throughout the year, and we would be delighted for you to join us:

  • Mother’s and Father’s Day mornings
  • Charity fundraisers
  • Cooking days
  • Snack and story days
  • World Book Day
  • Sports Day
  • Christmas concerts
  • Festivals and celebrations from around the world
